So I can finally talk about it…
I can’t tell you how thrilled I was when I got the call from OXFAM last month asking me to be the face of the 1980s on their new vintage website page. After winning a competition (see previous blog post) the prize was a professional photo shoot with none other than Benjamin Tietge, former first assistant to Mario Testino
When I arrived there were clothes rails with vintage pieces from the 80s and a table full of fabulous accessories. The girls at Oxfam and I spent an hour picking pieces and I tried on many different combinations. What I love about vintage is being able to take pieces from the past and combine them with my everyday clothes. In the end we chose an amazing suede jacket from Yves Saint Laurent.
I then had my make up done by Rosie Lewis and the amazing people at Nicky Clarke were let loose on my hair.
After I had my pictures taken (there was an 80s playlist playing in the background – so cool!) I got to spend time with Miss 50s,60s and 70s, all amazing bloggers and women, do have a look here at what outfits they chose and make sure you follow their blogs for more vintage and style tips.
A big thank you to everyone at Oxfam for making the day so special, I am honoured to be your Miss 1980.
